Terms of Service
Last updated: 8 July 2026
1. Who we are
FaceCards (facecards.app) is operated by Ecavo AB, a company registered in Sweden with company number 559373-6597. You can reach us at facecards@ecavo.se. By using FaceCards you agree to these terms.
2. The service
FaceCards is a flashcard app for learning to put names to faces. You can play curated decks without an account, create a free account to save results and build your own decks, and subscribe to Pro for additional features. Free-tier limits (such as the number of decks and cards) are shown in the app and may change over time.
3. Your account
You sign in with a Google account. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account. You can delete your account at any time from your profile page, which permanently removes your decks and history.
4. Pro subscription
Pro is a paid subscription billed through our payment provider Stripe, monthly or yearly at the prices shown on the pricing page and at checkout. Your subscription renews automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from your profile. You keep Pro until the end of the period you have paid for, and you will not be charged again. We never see or store your card details; payments are handled by Stripe.
If your subscription ends, decks and cards beyond the free-tier limits are not deleted, but you may need Pro again to share publicly or add more.
5. Withdrawal and refunds
If you are a consumer in the EU, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal from your first purchase. Email us at facecards@ecavo.se within 14 days of subscribing for the first time and we will refund you in full. After that, cancelling stops future renewals; we do not give partial refunds for time remaining in a period, except where the law requires it.
6. Your content
You own the decks and cards you create. By creating content on FaceCards you give us the permission we need to host, display, and share it as you direct (for example, when you publish a deck or invite people to it).
Only upload photos you have the right to use. For photos of private individuals, that means their consent. Do not use FaceCards to impersonate, harass, or expose people, and do not upload unlawful content. Decks you share publicly are visible to everyone.
We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules. Anyone can report a deck or card from the in-app menu.
7. Photos in curated decks
Our curated decks use openly licensed photos, mainly from Wikimedia Commons. The source and license are shown on each card. If you believe a photo is used in error, contact us and we will review it.
8. Fair use of the service
Don't abuse the service: no scraping, automated bulk access, attempts to bypass tier limits or security, or reselling access.
9. Liability
FaceCards is provided as-is. We work hard to keep it available and correct, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service, and we are not liable for indirect damages. Our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under mandatory consumer law.
10. Changes and applicable law
We may update these terms; if a change is material we will let you know in the app or by email. Swedish law applies. Disputes are handled by Swedish courts. As a consumer you can also turn to the Swedish National Board for Consumer Disputes (ARN, arn.se) or the EU online dispute resolution platform.
